Every physician leaves fingerprints on the world, whether intentionally or not. We leave them on the patients and families entrusted to our care. We leave them on the learners who are always watching, absorbing not only our knowledge but also our habits, our character, and our example. We leave them on the systems in which we work, clinically, academically, and through the policies and institutions that shape our surroundings.

As I reflect on my own career, I realize that the fingerprints I hope to leave are intentionally placed across time. I cherish caring for the children and families of today. I am passionate about preparing the colleagues I will one day want beside me in caring for the patients of tomorrow. And I am committed to building the systems, scholarship, and ideas that will strengthen medicine for generations to come.
